Fungicide

There are a number of very common fungal diseases that affect turf in England and they can really harm the look of your lawn. Most owners of infected lawns often don’t even realise that the problem is caused by a fungus! Red Thread, Fusarium and Rust are all common, yet can all be treated professionally.

If you are seeing irregular patterns of dead grass or any unusual-looking growths in the sward of the lawn, then the cause maybe a fungal disease attacking the grass in which case a fungicide treatment maybe the best course of action.

Recommended time of year for application

Time to apply the lawn fungicide treatment

– If conditions allow – Recommended time

A fungicide treatment can be applied all year round, as a prevention or a cure for many fungal diseases.

Weather conditions needed for application

The fungicide treatment is a spray treatment so it ideally needs to be applied on a dry, calm day, with no rain forecast for at least 6 hours after application.

Lawn preparation

There is no preparation needed before a fungicide treatment, although it is best to give the lawn a mow a few days before treating.

Time needed to apply the treatment

It is a liquid spray treatment, so doesn’t take long to apply, although this will depend on the size of your lawn.

Treatment waste

There is no waste from this treatment.

Lawn aftercare

It is recommended that the lawn has had time to dry before use, following this treatment. It is also recommended to not mow the lawn for 3-4 days after treatment.

Additional recommended treatments

The fungicide treatment should be applied on its own as an individual treatment. However, it would be a good idea to feed the lawn within a couple of weeks of application, to help the grass grow new leaves.
