I have perennial rye grass with brown spots and scattering of white pin wheel stools. The brown grass spots (I believe from heat and humidity) are matted and look dead, but the grass around them is green thin. I had the fungus spider web last season, but fungus spray eliminated it. I treated the lawn with Immunox fungus plus insect control for lawns. (2021 & 2022)
May 2022 spread 10-10-10 fertilizer, prior soil test indicated adequate amounts of all three. I had a lush green lawn prior to June 2022.
Pittsburgh PA area.
Thanks for your message William.
I’m based in the UK so am unfamiliar with lawn problems in the US.
I recommend you contact someone a little more local to you.
I hope you are able to get it sorted.
Kris
How can I get rid of these fungus in my lawn. They did appear where a tree was removed.
The fungus is decomposing the old rotting wood in the soil. They are an essential part of the soil and to get rid of them is both costly and pointless. Let them do their thing and they will reduce in time.
