Leaves are plant organs which grow from stems. The main function of a leaf are photosynthesis and gas exchange. They are often flat, so they absorbs the most light, and thin, so that the sunlight can get to the chloroplasts in the cells. Grass leaves are green and form the main colour of the lawn.
