Herbs are plants with savoury or aromatic properties that are used for flavouring and garnishing food. They are also used in medicine, or as fragrances.

Culinary use typically distinguishes a herb from a spice. A herb refers to the leafy green or flowering parts of a plant.

Lawn weeds as herbs

Many lawn weeds can be used in medicine and cooking. Some have been used for hundreds of years and their uses have been passed down over generations.

The most famous of these is the Dandelion, although a number of others can also be used. These blog posts are details of the plants found on lawns which have culinary uses.
